Airport Transfer & Departure: Arrive back in Entebbe. Complete outbound immigration and security protocols at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) in preparation for your return flight to Dhaka (DAC). Essential Travel Notes & Embassy Tips Visa Requirements & E-Visa: Citizens of Bangladesh require a visa to enter Uganda. This must be applied for and approved online via the official Uganda Electronic Visa/Permit Application System prior to departure. The printed e-Visa approval letter, passport, and return flight itinerary must be presented at the border. An "East Africa Tourist Visa" is also available if extending travel to Rwanda or Kenya. Yellow Fever Vaccination (Mandatory): A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is legally required for all travelers entering Uganda. Immigration officers at Entebbe Airport will deny entry without this document. Malaria prophylaxis is also highly recommended. Gorilla & Chimp Permits: Tracking permits for Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzees are strictly limited by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to minimize ecological impact. These permits must be secured and paid for months in advance, and the confirmation receipt is a critical supporting document for your visa application. Currency & Mobile Money: The official currency is the Ugandan Shilling (UGX). US Dollars are widely accepted for tourism services, but bills must be printed post-2013 and in pristine condition (no tears or writing). Uganda heavily relies on mobile money networks (MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money); registering for a local SIM card at the airport is highly recommended for digital payments. Strict Environmental Laws: Uganda enforces a strict nationwide ban on single-use plastic bags (polythene bags). Do not pack items in plastic grocery bags, as they will be confiscated at customs, and hefty fines can be applied. Trekking Gear & Climate: The climate is generally tropical, but Bwindi is located at a high altitude and can be quite cold at night. For the gorilla trek, it is essential to pack sturdy, waterproof hiking boots, thick gardening gloves (for grabbing thorny vegetation), gaiters, and long-sleeved shirts to protect against scratches and insects. Photography Ethics: When photographing local communities, particularly the Batwa, always ask for explicit permission first. Flash photography is strictly prohibited when tracking Gorillas and Chimpanzees to prevent distressing the primates. This document is prepared for visa application, immigration clearance, and comprehensive travel planning.
